As the year draws to a close, burnout is very much a reality. As a result many people are craving serious island vibes. Instead of dealing with airport madness and delayed flights, you could can simply head over to Ponta, Mall of Africa. A family restaurant that will instantly transport you to Mozambique without you having to click your heels. Ponta, Mozambican Style Portuguese is a must experience.

Ponta restaurant is perfect for everyone from couples to families to groups. Want to indulge in delicious Mozambique-style Portuguese cuisine and a laid-back holiday atmosphere without having to leave the city.

Since discovering Ponta at Mall of Africa, it has become our family favourite restaurant to dine at. In fact we visit Ponta several times a month. I must admit that we love the relaxed atmosphere and island themed design.

Portuguese Food with Mozambican Flair

The food is always outstandingly delicious and really appetising. The kind of food to have you licking your lips in anticipation. Portions are generous and we always leave completely satisfied. Having travelled to Mozambique, I can honestly attest to the Mozambican flair that Ponta exudes. Staff was extremely friendly with service always being on point.

Ponta carries an extensive menu, but we have a few favourite dishes we can seem to avoid. We are not really creatures of habit but the flavour is irresistible. My boys and I highly recommend the garlic bread.

Ponta, Garlic Bread

It isn’t on the menu for some reason, but ask your waiter and thank me later. The coconut rice is life! It’s probably the one thing on the menu that keeps us returning time and time again.

hake and rice

Also try the hake and coconut rise, fish braai platter, grilled chicken and chicken espetada.

Portions are massive, even when it comes to dessert

We recommend that you visit Ponta, for food that is sure to transport you to that much needed island life.

I’m Fearlesslty Authentic in all areas of my life, even when it comes to food. So, if team Fit Like Mummy recommends a resturant then we strongly suggest you give it a try. Thank us later
