home school room

Our school room reveal & an exclusive offer for you.

Just like that it’s back to school and Term 3 kicked off today for Ashton and Skylar. We announced our decision to homeschool at the very end of the second term and I didn’t have time to even sort out a school room for the boys. I’ve been rocking that single mom hustle and it’s time for our school room reveal.

Ever since we decided to begin homeschool I’ve been eager to have a designated place for the boys school time. We have the tiniest home, so space is an issue, but Ashton gave up his room and Skylar welcomed him over to share a bedroom.

Before

Ashton’s room was a bit of a disaster because he painted on the walls and I had my work cut out for me. I had to fill, sand and repaint the room as a starting point, but saw it as the perfect opportunity to up-skill the boys.

After

Then I needed some furniture and a few items to give the room personality all on a budget. Our school space is bright, organized and super cosy. The boys are thriving in this space and seem to enjoy spending downtime in this room as well.

I love the space so much that I also tend to work there in the evenings. With our light warm yellow walls and lack of wall space, I really wanted to bring some character into this space so I opted for a edgy monochrome carpet. This is probably the coldest room in the house so I needed to do something about that.

Other favorite elements include the motivational plaques, succulents and planners. We depend heavily on the Canon Pixma TS8340 printer which has been an absolute lifesaver as we eased into homeschool life.

Eating meals in the room isn’t allowed, but healthy snacking is. A stash of their fav snacks can also be found in the school room.
