Hyde Park Corner celebrates Father’s Day by bringing the heat & the speed

Sunday’s are our family hike day and the plan was to attend Coffee & Cars Showcase at Hyde Park Corner. We ran late and missed the event, which resulted in my petrol heads, Cliff and Sky were terribly disappointed. The good news is that Hyde Park Corner celebrates Father’s Day by bringing the heat & the speed.

We are super excited that there isn’t a soap on a rope in sight at Hyde Park Corner this Father’s Day! While we aren’t about soap on a rope, we are very much about adventure and experiences. That’s why we are super stoked about the supercars from Future Exotics.

Earlier in June car enthusiasts were treated to a jaw-dropping showcase of classic and supercars. On 12, 13, 19 and 20 June, Hyde Park Corner will continue to ‘rev your engines’ with displays in various exhibition courts. Featuring classic and supercar brands. In addition to marques such as Porsche (911 GT3 RS), three Classic Mini Coopers, Lamborghini (Aventador Liberty Walk) and Ferrari (458 Speciale); a McLaren 720S Nlargo 900 with its spectacular widebody made from carbon will be on display! Only 15 of this limited-edition two-seater were ever made, two of which are in South Africa… and one of those will be at Hyde Park Corner! The anticipation doesn’t end there – a not-to be-missed reveal of a one-of-a-kind supercar will take place on Saturday, 12 June at 11.30am! This will be the biggest supercar reveal South Africa has ever seen!

Visitors will be able to sample a range of coffees at tastings on Saturdays and Sundays during June. This will lead up to Father’s Day (on 12, 13, 19 and 20 June). TriBeCa, JB Rivers, Seattle Coffee and Health Works will also have tastings.

Coffee not your thing? Whisky Brother & Co. will be hosting whisky tastings. The following times are scheduled for the Tastings

  • 12 June – 12pm, 1pm and 2pm
  • 13 June – 12pm, 1pm and 2pm
  • 19 June – 12pm, 1pm and 2pm
  • 20 June – 12pm, 1pm and 2pm

Simply book your spot and one for Dad in-store at a cost of R50 per person. Expect a Blair Athol 22-year-old Private Cask and Milk & Honey STR Cask.
