The 2019 school year is rapidly drawing to a close, which means that this mum needs to find ways to keep the kids occupied. We have always been huge fans of Scrabble, so Family Time With Scrabble is definitely on the
The family favourite board game has gained a huge following since its early creation in 1933. Scrabble is a word game for 2 to 4 players which can be played in 45 to 90 minutes. It can however take longer with younger children. Mattel has since created Scrabble Junior, but anyone 8+ can play the original scrabble game.
Raising teens in the 21st century is challenging to say the least and finding ways to reduce screen time is something I have a strong focus on. Board games happen to be my greatest ally. Yes, I’m that mum. Family time with scrabble is an awesome way to get your kids to learn without even realising it because they are too busy enjoying quality time with family and friends. We have several Scrabble board games in our home. Our favourite is a magnetic, travel size one I bought at Hamley’s in London.
Another Mattel favourite is Pictionary Air so click HERE to check out our review.
Aside from my ulterior motives, Scrabble is a game of tactics and word mastery. It’s more than just building words with the tiles in your hand. Scrabble is about capitalising on the bonus opportunities that are found on the board and tile squares. A strong vocabulary matched with cutting edge tactical skills will see you being successful at Scrabble.
This holiday I strong recommend you take time out to enjoy your Family Time with Scrabble. Make sure to let us know if you love scrabble as much as we do.
Disclaimer : We received this specific Scrabble board game as a gift from Mattel. I however own 4 other Scrabble games which I purchased myself.
